My future plans after I graduate are to attend The University of West Alabama and major in Nursing. I plan to study to become a Registered Nurse (RN), a RN provides healthcare to patients and educate the public on different medical conditions. Becoming a Registered Nurse offers a fulfilling career. Continuing Education can advance the career of a Registered Nurse into one or more of the many diverse specialties that the nursing profession has to offer. I will finish the Nursing Program within four years to obtain my Bachelor’s degree and hope to work in a local healthcare facility.

Jenna is the daughter of James and Vicki Cash of Gadsden. Jenna graduated 7th in her class with a 3.764 GPA at Hokes Bluff High School. She plans to attend Samford University and pursue a degree in pharmacy.

Hunter Engineering – Decatur, AL

While in high school I have taken honors and advanced classes. Some of the extracurricular activities I participated in were cross country, JROTC, Track and Field, and the Rifle Team. After high school I plan on attending The University of Alabama in Huntsville for four years. While there I plan on getting a Bachelors degree for the field of Chemistry. After getting my degree at UAH I then plan to advance my studies at a pharmacy school (Auburn or Stanford). After getting my Masters Degree in Pharmacy I plan on entering the work force as a pharmacist of some sort. Eventually I would like to open a Pharmacy of my own and be able to create jobs and give back to the community that has given me so much.

Taylor has been part of numerous sports, clubs, and church activities. He has been on many mission trips with his church. This summer he will be going on an overseas mission trip to Wales. Taylor plans on attending UAH this fall and studying to become an electrical engineer. He plans on using his education and internship opportunities to open up more challenges and advances in his life. "I will work hard and never give up. Thank you for helping me and giving me more of an opportunity to chase down my dreams and accomplish them."

Gipson’s Tire – Prattville, AL

My name is Hannah Gipson. I’m eighteen years old, I live in Prattville, AL and I attend school at Prattville Christian Academy. I’m involved in National Honors Society, Speech and Debate, SGA, Drama Club, Key Club, Diamond Dolls, and Varsity Cheerleading. I’m also very involved in my youth group at First United Methodist Church. Next year, I will be attending Auburn University and majoring in elementary education. I’m so honored to be receiving this scholarship, and promise to take full advantage of it by fully engaging in not only studies, but also the countless other opportunities Auburn presents to me.

Hannah is the daughter of Ryan Dillard and Brian and Sheree Cater. Hannah is a high school graduate of Fort Dale Academy in Greenville, Alabama, and is currently attending Troy University. Hannah starts her sophomore year in the fall of 2013. She juggles a full-time class schedule, she has a full-time job, and is active in Greek life. After graduating from Troy University, Hannah plans to begin a nursing career, preferably working with children. "I've learned so much about responsibility during my first year at college! Thank you, ATDA and its members, so much for helping me pay for my education! You have no idea how much it means to me and my family."

Sarah Kaitlin Jenks

Sarah was born in Dothan, Alabama to Randy and Barbara Jenks. Sarah was raised in neighboring Headland, Alabama. She graduated Salutatorian from Headland High School with an advanced diploma. While attending Headland High School, she participated in the Academic Team, HHS Majorette, Honors Society, SGA, Key Club Association, and Wallace Community College dual enrollment program. She is a member of Headland First Baptist Church. Sarah was accepted into the Honors Program and School of Engineering at the University of Alabama where she plans to major in Chemical Engineering.

Patrick

Patrick Jamison Elliott

OK Tire Stores – Tuscaloosa, AL

Patrick is the son of Albert & Lucrecia Elliott of Northport Alabama. He is a 2010 graduate of Northside High School and attended Bevill State Community College from 2010 – 2012, where he received an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Patrick transferred to the University of Alabama, Fall of 2012 and is currently enrolled as an undergraduate at the University of Alabama, College of Engineering as a Mechanical Engineering Major, in pursuit of a Bachelors of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and thereafter plans to continue studying for a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering. After graduating from the University of Alabama, Patrick plans to begin his career as a Mechanical Engineer in Tuscaloosa, Alabama As a recipient of your ATDA 2013 Scholarship, I would like to express my gratitude for being awarded this scholarship and the opportunity to continue my college education in the pursuit of my goal as a mechanical engineer.

I am a graduate of Homewood High School, where I played on the drum line and worked as the president of the environmental club. For the 2013-2014 academic year, I will attend the University of Alabama at Birmingham where I will study International Studies along with Environmental Studies. I have been fortunate enough to receive UAB’s Golden Excellence Scholarship which will help cover the costs of my tuition and fees.
